Boardwalks

We have constructed many boardwalks over the years and a specification and guide prices for these is available on request. Here are some photographs of some we have done. Site visits are usually required to give a fixed quote. Again contact Ron Gilleard for details.

We manufacture boardwalks and ramps as shown in the diagram and specification below. We use Tanalised timber throughout and the deck is treated with a non-slip finish. We make them with or without handrails. (If deck of boardwalk is more than 600mm above ground level handrails are recommended.) The gradient of ramps must not exceed 1:12. Somewhere 1:12 and 1:20 is the norm.

Before we can give you a FIXED quote for boardwalks or ramps, we must carry out a site visit to establish conditions, ground conditions, length of boardwalk / ramp, location, whether handrails are required and whether the boardwalk / ramp will pass through water, all of which affect the price. However, as a guide, a boardwalk / ramp with handrails costs approximately £ 110 per metre and a boardwalk / ramp without handrails will cost approximately £ 95 per metre. Remember these figures are approximate.
